My name is Greg Freeman. I like scuba diving, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai kickboxing, surfing, rock climbing and traveling.
Why Keleko.com? Unless someone lied to me, Keleko is apparently the Hawaiian name for Greg and it has kind of grown on me.
I haven’t spent too much time in my home country of Australia for the past 2-3 years. Canada has been my home for the past year and before that 8 months in Europe, 4 months in South East Asia and 2 months in the United States.
The photo used in the header of my blog was taken on the 3rd March 2009 at sunrise in the Isle of Skye, Scotland. It remains one of favorite places that I have visited thus far.
My interest in computers and technology started back in 2001 by creating websites and haven’t looked back since. From the humble beginnings of learning basic html, it has led me to a career working on web applications and managing linux servers.
I use Linux Mint on my main work laptop, it’s a thinkpad t410s. For servers I use a combination of redhat flavors and debian.
Symfony and WordPress are two projects I like to follow and support.
PHP & MySQL Web Development by Luke Welling and Laura Thomson (2nd edition) was the first book on PHP that I ever read. Flipping through it now highlights how far PHP has come during that time and I am grateful to all of the people who have contributed to the project to make it what it is today.
This blog will be mainly about tech stuff. You may also follow me on twitter.
